Le Mireille Marché is pronounced “lay-mee-ray-mar-shay”. Loosely translated it means Mireille's market.
Mireille is our muse. She is a beautiful French girl living in Paris who wears minimal make up and is effortless and authentic is everything she does. She is very athletic and always elegant, très sportive, très élégante. Our “market” consists of all the clothes we believe she would wear.
In French the word “marche” has two meanings:
Le Mireille Marche can also be translated as "Mireille walks.” We love this because our brand was inspired by the idea of a woman walking around her neighborhood in Paris and connecting with the people in her community and the clothes were part of the story. Her clothes were the epitome of French lifestyle fashion. Athletic and elegant, très sportive très élégante.
Our cost-value equation is strong. When a customer is wearing our brand she is investing in clothing that is fashionable, high quality, and tailored to fit her body like is was made especially for her. Our brand was built on the same principles that once dictated mid to higher-end fashion in the 1980’s.
1)We use premium fabrics.
We use the same fabrics that are found in the designer markets in Europe and America.
2) The inside of our garments is as important as the outside.
Throughout the 1980s there were many ingredients that a well-made garment had that were “invisible”. Details like binding, interfacing, underlays, lining and bar tags, cost money and added to production time, but they were integral to the fit, the personality and the longevity of the clothing. Today many (if not all) of these details have been stripped out of garments with the goal being to make clothing that is mass-produced, cheap and disposable. At Le Mireille Marche we consider these details to be the soul of our clothing.
3)The fit of our clothing is the pillar of our brand.
Our fit team consists of a pattern maker and a tailor. Together, they create an individual pattern for each and every size. This is a labor-intensive process but it is why our clothing fits like it was custom made for a size 2 up to a size 10.
Today, many retailers do not use a pattern maker or tailor when creating clothing. Instead, they use a computer to create a pattern for a size 8 or a size 10 and then just size up or size down. This is why a lot of clothes run big and its hard today to find clothing that fits.
For the most accurate information please refer to our size guide. For a quick reference please see below.
1. Bottoms
All of our bottoms that are numerically sized, (2-10) are true to size.
Our fits emulate the designer market, this means they will be true to your measurements. Chances are you will either be the same size or a size larger than what you are used to. Start by measuring your waist right over your belly button. Then measure your hip at its widest point and refer to our chart.
2. Tops
Our tops are Alpha sized (XS-L)
Measure around your torso directly under your bust and refer to our chart.
Most of our clothing is dry clean only. This is because we use premium fabrics, our clothes have dressmaker details and we have hand-sewn stitching. Our clothes were designed to be worn often, fit correctly and be passed on to future generations, dry cleaning helps ensure this
